This is insane: the weather gadget on my sidebar says that the temperature in Hamburg is -15 °C (that would be 5 °F).

Normally, the coldest weather we get around here in winter is just below freezing... maybe -2 °C or 30 °F or so.

Hmm, I remember it being -17°C once last winter. Now it's -10°C in Münster. The winters the decade before that were apparently unusually mild for Germany.

Nevertheless, I am freezing!
