People with certain allergies can't be Catholic

This article is about a girl who can't consume wheat (more specifically: no gluten), whose first Holy Communion was ruled invalid because the wafer contained no wheat.

ObLDS: I had to think of D&C 27:2 when I read that.

If she's not allergic to the wine, it's valid. You can either consume one species or the other or both, and you receive the full Body of Christ by any of those options. So if this got mucked about that, somebody is being stupid. (Catholic beaurocracy is just as subject to stupidity--perhaps more--as anybody else.)
