Awesomesauce!

I wonder why "awesomesauce" is called "awesomesauce".

I mean, where'd the "sauce" bit come from? And why "sauce" in particular?

I don't know about awesomesauce in particular, but I know that "weak sauce" is sometimes used amongst young/college-age nerdy gamer types. I dated a guy for a while that used "weak sauce" on a regular basis. I'd guess it stems from that, but I have no idea where "sauce" originally came from...

"Applesauce" is made from apples.
"Awesomesauce" is made from awesome.

...That's all I've got. I like saying it, though :D

It's like is going to rhyme and then it just...doesn't. It's such a let-down, the end of that word. I wish it would just drop the other shoe and be "awesomesauce-some" already.

You've got it backwards! If you want it to rhyme, say that a thing is made of "some awesomesauce". ;)

It's awesome in the awesomesauce. :) (no, I don't know)
