Meta-dreaming

Last night I dreamed that I was dreaming, and inside the sub-dream I knew that I was dreaming because I could change reality: at one point, I was wearing only underwear, then a bit later I was wearing trousers, and when I noticed that, I tried to "take off" the trousers just by imagining them off, and I was wearing underwear again. Then I "put them on" again and I was wearing trousers again, and I felt them, and they felt like denim, so I was indeed wearing trousers. I thought that was pretty cool. When I woke up, I told Stella about it.

Then, this morning, I woke up for real :) So I dreamed inside a dream, which has happened before, but I think this is the first time I realised I was dreaming.

<reality type="matrix">You are The One</reality>

That is a very interesting skill

Your dream reminded me of a conversation I had with a coworker many years ago. He told me that he heard somewhere that LDS men wear some kind of special, holy underpants, and I was imagining underpants that glow a bright yellow color. Anyone wearing these underpants could shoot lightning bolts out of their bottom and change reality with a wave of their hand. Now I mean no offense in any way if there are indeed holy underpants, I just happen to have a very vivid imagination sometimes.

Heh :) Lightning bolts out of my bottom, eh?

No, they're plain white. And no offense taken.

Well lightning bolts are cool!

I always thought Brits use 'dreamt' rather than 'dreamed'.

Er... you know, I had to look that one up in the dictionary (which said either could be used). I blame 12 years of schooling among predominantly American-speaking pupils (which also strongly influenced my accent while I was there).

I think I do say /drEmt/, though, rather than /dri:md/. But I'm not so sure not that I have to think about it consciously :)

Heheheh. Just goes to show where all this American influence is getting us! :)
