Oh! I know I used to know that, and it's how I pronounce it in my mind as well, but for some reason I thought you liked it "ne", silent "p"

I don't think I've ever espoused that pronunciation!

In German, I say "pné", in one syllable, but with an audible "p" at the beginning... and I suppose "pnee" in English in English would work, too, but "nee" sounds odd to me.

("pee enn ee" is the default English pronunciation for me, though. Typically with stress on the third syllable.)
