Another leap second!

I’m always excited when a copy of Bulletin C trundles into my mail box, twice a year.

Unfortunately, recently it has always said that there will be no new leap second.

But today it didn’t! A leap second will be introduced at the end of June 2012: 2012-06-30 23:59:59 UTC will be followed by 2012-06-30 23:59:60 UTC.

So remember to set your clocks appropriately :)

Perhaps you know this already, but that could be the last leap second.

I knew there was discussion on the topic of abolishing them and had heard there was going to be a vote, but I didn't really know the details. Thanks for the link!
