Amy's speech: better, yet worse

Amy's speech is quite a bit more intelligible now (even to untrained outsiders); at the same time, she seems to be more self-conscious about her speech and will occasionally refuse to say something she can't say "properly", rather than simply giving it her best attempt.

It's occasionally possible to trick her, though :)

Sample exchange from today:

Stella: Sag mal „Benjamin“.
Amy (who finds this name difficult to pronounce, tries to avoid saying it): Das darf ich nicht sagen!
Stella: Was darfst du nicht sagen?
Amy: „Nemmin“ darf ich nicht sagen!

(for honesty sake, i don't know darf either, but it didn't seem as important as nemmin)

"Nemmin" is simply her mispronunciation of "Benjamin".

And "dürfen" is "to be allowed to", so "ich darf nicht ..." is "I may not .../I'm not allowed to ....": she's claiming not to be allowed to say "Benjamin", as an explanation of why she's refusing to say it.

oh that is really cute :)

I think I was seeing nemmin and thinking nehmen, which sounded like a german word i learned a long to go. and it's either giving or taking. :)

Yep, "nehmen" is "take".

(And "geben" is "give".)
