Just saw a notice on the LDS Daily News mailing list that Doubleday will publish an edition of the Book of Mormon which will be available in bookstores from November. It'll feature the same text as the edition published by the Church but will have a slightly different layout (e.g., no footnotes or cross-references) designed to make it more accessible to the non-LDS reader, as I understand it.
See the press release at lds.org and a story at deseretnews.com. List price for the hard-back will us US$ 24.95.
The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints issued a statement on favouring a constitutional amendment preserving marriage as the lawful union of a man and a woman.
