We have a thing that Amy used to play with when she was smaller and spent most of her time lying on her back; it's a horizontal rod with two legs at each end, shaped a bit like a tent without the canvas, and there are various bits and bobs dangling from the horizontal rod.

Yesterday, Stella had reassembled the frame for Erik, who was visiting, and Amy found that the frame was just the right height for her to grab, and due to the rounded ends of the legs, would slide smoothly over the carpetting in her room, and proceeded to walk around a bit (until she got stuck).

I made a short movie with my camera (10 seconds, 2.2 MB, QuickTime MOV).

Lee Holmes (a developer over in the Monad group) had a problem.

It seems that he had an application that just insisted on his being an admin to work correctly...

Being a blogger, of course he wrote about it: here.

I don't recommend anyone doing this, but it's an interesting approach to fixing a broken application.
