Random memory

As I recall, when I was in the MTC, the buildings (dorms, classrooms, gymnasium, etc.) were all numbered, with the buildings roughly in numerical order (rather than, say, in chronological order by when they were built or something).

Some (or all?) buildings also had names, à la "David O. McKay Building". And at one point, we were reminded we should be using the building names when talking about them.

Nobody paid much notice to that, as I recall. And I think even official announcements included the building number.

I just had a random memory, of how I sent a friend (who was in Poland at the time) a letter addressed in Cyrillic.

I considered posting about it, but then thought I might have already done so in the past, so I fired up Google and searched for "random memory" Poland Cyrillic and indeed found the appropriate entry, from 2004-05-05 (nearly four years ago!). (Though it wasn't the first entry on the SERP.)

The side-effects of posting mostly public, combined with a fairly high Google PageRank (5, for my main journal page).
