Apparently, there’s a Deutsche Polizeigewerkschaft (German Police Union) as well as a Gewerkschaft der Polizei (Union of the Police). Shades of Monty Python.

(And according to that article, DPolG has about half the members that GdP has, so they’re both roughly the same order of magnitude in size.)
