Netherlands to build euro banknote bridges
Tuesday, 5 July 2011 09:50I just read that the Netherlands are going to build the bridges depicted on euro banknotes.
Euro banknotes feature bridges (as a symbol of joining together) and windows and doors (as a symbol of openness); but to avoid picking any particular country, the architectural features on the notes simply represent European architectural periods but do not depict any specific existing item.
Until now, where a Dutch graphic designer got the idea to build bridges that look like the designs on the notes, to attract tourism to the area.
