PSA: paid time extension

If you have a paid account (but not a permanent one) or had one during June, and/or if you were considering buying paid time in the next week, read this announcement.

Know what really sucks? I was a victim of some of that nonsense while my account was still in paid status, but since it's not now, I can't claim it. Lame.

That does suck; you were one of the people I was thinking of when I posted this announcement.

I expect you tried to claim the time and the page said you weren't entitled to any?

I'd've thought you were, since you were paid during (at least part of) June.

OTOH the post also said that:

We're still running into some issues checking for accounts that have expired in the past month, and there are still some instances where people are getting "you are ineligible" errors. We're working as fast as we can to fix these problems, so please be patient. I'll update this post again when I have more information.

So you could wait, or email accounts@livejournal.com and see whether they can fix things for you.

Sounds good. Just make sure to do it before the deadline, which is on the 7th (I think).

Also, if you do contact Accounts, it might be better to submit a support request (http://www.livejournal.com/support/) in the "Account Payments" category rather than sending email - theoretically, sending email ends up there as well, but email to the support board is currently a bit wonky, so opening a request directly may be better to show that you did so before the deadline.

But I hope things work out in the end for you!

The article (http://www.livejournal.com/community/paidmembers/13251.html) now says that they've made a couple of changes for eligibility checks, so if you were getting the "you are ineligible" error before you should try again.
