I was trying to transfer images from my camera to my PC over the USB cable; when I connected the camera to the PC, it was automatically assigned drive letter H:.

During the transfer, Windows XP bluescreened. Yay. (not)

I rebooted and tried again. This time, the camera was assigned drive letter L:. What?

*opens Explorer* Yup. The card reader is recognised again, which explains the different drive letter. No idea what happened.

But yay. Now I could transfer images directly from the SD card rather than having to go card->camera->USB cable->PC; this went quite a bit quicker.

Let's hope it stays this way.

Windows does amuse me with it's habits of losing things. My dad's computer "lost" it's second hard drive for about 9 months - I didn't bother doing anything with it, as it was only for unimportant backups anyway (important ones went on CD), but then one day without warning it suddenly found it again and it's worked ever since (for about 6 months now). On the flip side, one of the computers at work keeps finding a modem when it boots up. No-one's quite sure how, as there's in no modem in it (not even built in to the motherboard) and it's most annoying due to it being unable to find the drivers for it and refusing to ignore the matter, so it prompts you every time you boot up! :D
