The ninth root of 10×e8 = 3.14159828…

Look familiar?

I was looking through the Online Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences (http://www.research.att.com/~njas/sequences/) and decided, for a lark, to look for "1,5,9,2,6,5". That got me pi, of course.

Then I had a look at a couple of "sequences in context", i.e. that start with terms similar to 3,1,4,1,5,...; one of those was A057466 (http://www.research.att.com/projects/OEIS?Anum=A057466), "The ninth root of 10*e^8".

Pi is, yes (though that number is rounded; the last digit is a 3, not a 4, but is followed by a 5: 3.141592653589793...).

But it's still surprisingly close.

Similarly for 355/113 = 3.14159292... (accurate to 0.00000849%) and 104348/33215 = 3.14159265392... (accurate to 0.00000001056%).

You didn't know that? That's the basic foundation of... oh well apparently the world isn't ready for that knowledge yet. I'll wait 'till you discover it on your own.
