No trains in .de; glad I'm in a hotel rather than in a station. Hope work will pay for it (on way home from WOB). See what tomorrow brings.

Oops!

I'm glad I didn't go to town today - no trains in NRW either. I'd have found somewhere to sleep, of course, but it would have been quite a fuss.

Oh dear!
I'm sorry you're stuck. Hope you get home all right tomorrow. At least you did manage to get accomodation. I would have thought there might be none available, with all those stranded passengers. Poor folks.

I had to think of you as I watched the news; they showed a tree which had fallen on a house in Erftstadt.

Oh, I haven't even heard about that, but there was a lot of Feuerwehrautos going through all evening and night.

Yes, I thought so, too -- I was a bit surprised that they still had rooms available in hotels within walking distance of the station.

But they had not only a double room free, but at least two singles! (I had been prepared to share a room with a co-worker who was also travelling home from Wolfsburg.)

It was a slightly expensive place, but still, I would have thought everything would be full. So I was glad to be in a warm, dry room for the night.
