Amy just got confused between English "pony-tail" and German "Pony", which are on completely opposite ends of the head (German Pony = en-GB "fringe"/en-US "bangs"; English pony-tail = de "Pferdeschwanz", i.e. "horse-tail", or possibly "Zopf", though for some that word is restricted to en-GB "plait"/en-US "braid")... which made me think about the word "Pony".
I noticed that it's masculine when referring to a hairstyle ("Ich habe einen Pony") but neuter when referring to a small horse ("Ich habe ein Pony"). Never noticed that before.
Amazing!*
