Hm, for some reason my comics feeds have dried up... at least Calvin and Hobbes, FoxTrot, and Dilbert. All of which are fed from radio.weblogs.com—and their last picture is 1 April, in each case.

Rats. I want my comics fix.

(That reminds me, I should go fix the URL for Doctor Fun's 1st of April picture... OK, done.)

The slashdot feed has gone as well (http://www.livejournal.com/users/slashdot/1230921.html).

Slashdot feed gone

Ah well, no great loss. I've become increasingly more disenchanted with the quality of /. recently.

On the other hand, the reason given is interesting, especially since, I thought, LiveJournal only polled every hour or two, and since Slashdot tends to have a similar effect on other servers... they should be able to take it themselves. Or something.

On the other hand, radio.weblogs.com has been down for a week or so before; perhaps someone is on holiday and can't give it a kick in the right place.

I get Foxtrot from [livejournal.com profile] foxtrotfans. [livejournal.com profile] roxy_star manually links it from www.ucomics.com every day. This was the only one I really wanted to read every day, the Dilbert, C&H and Non Sequitur were cool, but I don't really mind them gone.

Can't you set up your own link to pull them in each day?

Ah. I used to follow [livejournal.com profile] foxtrotfans until I found the RSS feed, then I dropped [livejournal.com profile] foxtrotfans because I was seeing that comic twice.

I've added it back, for now. I agree, FoxTrot is quite possibly the best of the bunch. (And thanks for reminding me of the existence of [livejournal.com profile] foxtrotfans!)

Pulling comics

I suppose I could, but then I'd have to do actual work :)

On the other hand, when I went to Doctor Fun's page recently, I saw a link to netcomics (http://netcomics.sourceforge.net/), which looks as if it'll simplify considerably the process of acquiring comics. But if the feeds start working again soon I probably shan't get around to it. Have to see.

(I already pull one cartoon and make it available via RSS: Doctor Fun.)
