Amy's toilet training
Wednesday, 11 June 2008 22:36Amy pooped in the toilet today!
I think that was only the second time so far. She'll occasionally say she has to go, but then nothing will come, and so far she's nearly always only pooped in her nappies. (Sometimes within half an hour of putting one on in the evening.)
So being able to defecate in the toilet is a good thing, and I imagine it's good for that to be a positive/successful memory for her.

Date: Wednesday, 11 June 2008 21:08 (UTC)On daycare days, Maggie always waits until bedtime (after, actually) to poop -- except when she goes in the middle of dinner (in the toilet, thankfully). These things are really important to kids, in ways no one seems to fully understand.

Date: Thursday, 12 June 2008 14:18 (UTC)What age is customary for toilet training in Germany? Here I'd say most girls are in underwear by 3, many by 2.5, perhaps a bit later for boys. But it depends on parental attitudes toward the process, too. I know one girl Amy's age who is still in diapers because the parents want her to make her own decision about when she's ready, and that hasn't happened yet.
