Amy seems to be interested in synonyms, especially where different people will use different words for the same thing (including, but not limited to, US/UK differences in vocabulary).
For example, while reading her bedtime story this evening (A Great Day for Up), when we got to the bit about taking an “elevator” up, she commented that “Aunt Elaine says ‘elevator’ instead of ‘lift’!”
And later this evening, after she was in bed and listening to a CD, she called down to tell me that “On the ‘Paula’ CD, they call a toilet a ‘lavatory’!”
