Sealand, HavenCo, and the Rule of Law (860K PDF) - a fascinating article about Sealand and HavenCo.

The author, James Grimmelmann, is an Associate Professor of Law, and the paper deals mostly with the legal questions surrounding HavenCo and its relation to law (such as that it thumbed its nose at national law relating to things such as copyright yet depended on international law regarding the status of Sealand and also on national Sealand law to ensure that its operation remained legal there) - but there is also a fascinating section on the history of both Sealand and HavenCo.

An interesting read, I think, for both people interested in micronations and those interested in data havens, cypherpunk, etc.!

There is also a PDF of slides from a presentation which summarises the paper in the second half and has lots of interesting pictures in the first half! Including many views of Sealand itself (from the outside and some of the quarters inside), a picture of some server racks, as well as some of the people involved (including, presumably, Prince Roy and his wife Joan, though the pictures are not captioned).
