Yesterday, we spontaneously decided to take advantage of the good weather and take the train to Cuxhaven, on the North Sea.
From there, we took the bus to Duhnen and enjoyed ourselves at the beach there, mostly walking on the mudflats of the Wadden Sea.
Most of the mudflats were under water, but very little: we could see people standing in water no more than knee-deep very far away; and the deepest part that we got to was a very muddy bit fairly close to the beach, with the parts further out being shallower and sandier.
Amy had a lot of fun, I think, even though we only stayed for a fairly short while (a two-hour train ride one way and we were at the beach for a bit less than two hours).
Due to the good weather, the bus back was pretty full and the driver had to call for “reinforcements”.
