XML on Windows, part the next

OK, today I tried to get XML::LibXML working.

Again, I failed because a necessary DLL wasn't installed: this time, it was libxml2.dll.

Thanks to the power of Google, I found "Installing an XSLT processor" fairly quickly. This linked to Igor Zlatkovic's website, which has since moved (the correct page is now http://www.zlatkovic.com/projects/libxml/index.html).

This page contains Windows binaries of libxml, libxslt, libexslt, and iconv. Let's see how far I get with those.

Edit: Hm, no dice: doing perl -MXML::LibXML -de1 complains about not being able to find xmlIndentTreeOutput in libxml2.dll. Darn.

Edit 2: I finally found a suitable libxml2.dll—at any rate, I can run perl -MXML::LibXML -de1 without any pop-up error messages. I got it from http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/ppmpackages/scripts/.

Edit 3: There's a small account of my searches in an email to the Perl-XML mailing list.

you replied to one of my problems and you told me my journal is not displaying because the GLOBAL_HEAD override is missing closing comment and style tags. could you IM me and help me out with this, cause I'm not too sure of what I'm doing.

AIM is inconvenient, since I assume you're in the States... I'm in Europe, so we tend to be awake at different times.

You know how to edit your overrides, right? (If not, the first paragraph of http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=124 will tell you.)

Now look in the overrides box for the text <=GLOBAL_HEAD; that's the end of your GLOBAL_HEAD override.

Compare what's before it with the description in http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=140.

You've got the style sheet declaration, the opening comments tag, the HTML element (elements, in your case) and opening brace, CSS declarations, and closing brace.

What you're missing is, right after that and before the <=GLOBAL_HEAD, the closing comment tag and end style sheet declaration; you can pick those up from the FAQ 140 I linked to a bit higher up.
