More specifically, only the top three coloured bars (blue, orange, purple) appear, nothing else. (No background image with random text, search box, setlang man, etc.)

Mozilla 0.9.8 (build 2002020406), JavaScript on: I chose to have the password manager insert a saved username/password combination on the talkread page (the session had expired since I had changed my password since the last time I used Mozilla).

On the talkpost page, it asked me which username/password to insert. At this point, the username/password boxes in the form itself were blank and the subject was correctly filled with "Re: The subject of the comment".

Regardless of whether I choose "pne" or press Cancel, the subject line is blanked. (If I press Cancel, the password box in the form is filled with stars to the length of pne's saved password and the subject line is blanked. If I choose "pne", then the same happens, plus the username/password boxes at the top for logging in are filled.)

Mozilla 0.9.8: If I press Cancel on the talkread page and Cancel again on the talkpost page, then the subject line is blanked. This time, "pne" is filled in the username box in the form and the new(!) password is filled in the password box as stars - perhaps because I've used it already to post the other comment? Will try to re-start Moz to see what happens.

OK, restarted Mozilla, pressed Cancel each time the password manager wanted to pre-fill username and password.

On replying, the subject line was blanked (after pressing cancel) and "pne" and the new password filled into the username and password fields.

MozillaFirebird 0.6 again. This time with "Tools | Options | Privacy | Remember saved passwords" unchecked.

The subject line is correctly pre-filled.

Bug in Firebird? It's rather obnoxious, since the tools can be useful.

Mozilla 0.9.8 with "Edit | Preferences | Privacy & Security | Passwords | Remember Passwords" unchecked:

subject line correctly pre-filled. Username and password boxes are left blank.

And replying to this does not auto-fill the username/password boxes in the form, either.

MozillaFirebird 0.6, saved passwords on, but logged out: prompts to select user. When I press Cancel, the subject line is blanked, the form's username/password boxes are pre-filled with "pne" and the old password, and the login boxes at the top stay blank. The subject line was filled correctly while the username prompt was displayed.

replying to this auto-fills "pne" and the new password.

MozillaFirebird 0.6, with JavaScript on and password saving on.

However, I had previously cleared all stored passwords for 'pne' (there were two—presumably one for the login form and one for the comment reply form). Now I've logged out and logged in again, allowing MozillaFirebird to store the password for logging in, but the password is still not autofilled in the comment reply form and the subject is preserved, which is good.

And a reply to "Re: foo" stays "Re: foo", as expected. Good.
