Wow, Tomcat saves my session attributes even when I restart the server.

Apparently, it serialises the session into a work directory when the server is stopped, and deletes the file after it's brought back up.

I noticed when an attribute I had stuck in from a previous servlet was still there after I restarted the server and reloaded the page.

I am glad that my name consists solely of ASCII characters.

Stuff is breaking all over the place at the moment when I use non-ASCII characters. Thank goodness we're just playing around. Stuff like characters being replaced by question marks or being UTF-8-encoded twice, or worse.

*Phew* I'm back home.

Well, that was an interesting course—pity it was so short. There was easily material for five days in there. (The trainer admitted later on that he would have preferred to teach it in five days 3/2 rather than in thee days 2/1, but the reality is that most companies won't pay for more than three days, he says.)
