Some people use "yea" where I would expect "yay", or vice versa... So since I like polls, I was wondering what you use.

For "some other way", please leave a comment on this post".

I say "yea" in two ways:

Like "yay" (yeI) to mean "aye, yes, affirmative".
Like "yeah" (yæ) to mean "yep...so."

People around here (Maryland) tend to put a bit of an IPA "i" glide in front of the æ (yiæ).

I spell the legal word for "yes" as "aye", but, "yea" is okay too.

it's highly amusing so see the ways that people describe how they pronounce things. people with non-rhotic accents say things like "rhymes with air" which is totally bizarre to me, but i'm sure that when i say "yeah rhymes with mat" THEY think THAT'S totally bizarre.

yeah, i think it's funny, anyway. :P

Informally, I always use "ja" for yes. I pronounce it as "yah" when I say it, so same word. =)

Foir the last one, I actually do use the word, but only spoken (along with hand gestures to indicate the size), so I don't actually use any spelling for it.
