I was thinking if you took a random image off the net and uploaded it to your own server.

You'd be saving their bandwidth, but in general, you can't just take someone else's image and exhibit it publicly.

You may have seen this before, but searching Google Images for "blue winged cat" brings up this image (http://www.conmicro.cx/~kturtle/diaries/mff01/photos/winged-cat.jpg) from this page (http://www.conmicro.cx/~kturtle/diaries/mff01/photos/winged-cat.html) (among others, though no others seem to be all three of blue, winged, and cat).
