Eep! I've nearly used up my monthly Internet transfer quota and the billing month is only half over (it runs from the 15th to the 14th).

I doubt those two Debian ISOs I downloaded a week ago have anything to do with that...

Will have to be a bit careful the next couple of weeks. Or pay for the extra volume.

I took my unmetered, unrestricted DSL connection for granted until I found out about metered services such as yours. Now I cherish what I have.

Though unmetered DSL connections are available in Germany as well (though they're getting fewer, since companies initially tended to underestimate the amount of use people would make of them and went bankrupt).

I chose to have a metered connection with a given transfer volume (as opposed, say, to a given connection time, which my ISP also offers), since historically my bandwidth needs have been pretty low: mostly browsing and (predominantly text) email, some instant messenging and IRC. No filesharing, no downloading video trailers or game demos, and so on - so far, my plan has served me very well. And it's cheaper than an unmetered connection ("Flatrate" in Germlish).
