Ahhh, running out of friends colours

Occasionally, it happens that I recognise the stripe of colour at the left side of an entry on my Friends page and think it's foo, but it's actually bar.

I obviously have too few colours, or too many friends.

Fortunately, people with similar colours are usually (but not always) fairly different, so reading a little bit often helps to keep them apart even without looking at the username.

Because looking at the username is such a difficult, time-consuming thing to do ... ;-P

Yes it is, since (a) I got more or less used to identifying frequent posters by their colour, and (b) in my Friends page scheme, usernames are vertically centered in the table cell, so if the entry is long, it takes quite a while for the name to scroll into view, while the table cell background colour covers the entire length of the entry.

But yeah.

Maybe I should change my style (it's a very lightly tweaked 'Default Friends Page')... but I've kind of got used to it.

I have mostly stopped using friends colours: only communities and feeds get a colour still.

The reason: I always forget some colours for some, and then they stand out in some way I do not inted…

I have the same background color for everyone, but that's because my other styles all made the background color more noticable, and I didn't like the way it looked.

Now I use colors for groups... Support/Support Communities; Real Life; University; Random People/Communities; Styles Communities; LJ Communities; and Tutorials. Since you've now had more info that you really wanted to know, suffice it to say, that I tried friends colors and it drove me batty back when I had 10 friends.
