For the linguistics geek in us:

Standard Lexical Sets for the English language: sets of words that can be used to compare regional dialects, and key words which can be used to represent the vowel of a certain set.

What I'd like to see is a comprehensive list — almost an "atlas", as it were — of various English dialects, with keys to differentiation highlighted with IPA.

For example: Newfoundland (and Cape Breton I.) pronunciation of "yes" sounds almost like "yay-ess". How does IPA representation of Canadian "out" and "about" differ from RP or American dialect? Etc. etc.
