Gratuitous poll

Somewhere, I read where someone talks about people thanking their mentors for trivial things when they write papers in university -- something along the lines of "and thanks for Professor Smith, whose seminal work on whether toilet paper should hang from the front or the back of the roll made such a difference", or the like.

Which made me think -- what do you prefer? Do you even have a preference?

Wow, he's been writing since 1995! (Or has he? His info page says "created 2001-01-10".)

LiveJournal only exists since 1999 (http://www.livejournal.com/talkread.bml?itemid=1). It is possible to backdate entries; I don't know about dottey, but he might have transferred these entries from another blog site or even a paper journal.

There was a user in Support who thought he could be smart by backdating an entry to 1997 (two years before LJ was first created) and then complain that he didn't get an Early Adaptor (sic!) account.

Sorry, I can't remember when.

The outcome was the same, though. A vast majority wants the toilet paper to hang from the front side of the roll.

From an aesthetic point of view, I prefer it to hang over the front; However, having cats in the house, it is more practical to have it hang over the back (they so far seem unable to unroll it when it is mounted like that).
