Would one of you fancy coming over and cleaning up the house a bit?

It looks a bit of a mess since we had dishes and stuff left over from Sunday when we left to the hospital and we haven't been home for more than a bit of time at a stretch.

And now it'll all be up to me to clear up and wash dishes and do the laundry and stuff; things that I haven't done regularly for ages.

For a ticket to Germany, I'd make you think you were living in Buckingham Palace. ;)

{{{{{HUGS}}}}} I hope things start looking up - I'm sorry little Amy's life has started out this way. I'm praying for you.

I'm praying for you.

Thank you, Beth; I appreciate it.

Stella's mother also had called and offered to put Amy's name on the temple prayer roll.

...though sometimes I wonder whether I'm the one who's worse off than the child, at this point.

Philip?

Call some of the women in your ward and ask for help. You have a wife and daughter in the hospital. Get real. Everyone will understand, and the ladies will be far better at it and probably leave an edible dinner with reheating instructions. :)

Thanks for suggesting that; I wouldn't have thought of it. (Seriously.)

Whether it's my special Philip-style "can't deal with real-life situations very well" or generic male "try to do it yourself first; call for help only in life-or-death situations" attitude (or a combination of both), I don't know.

But you have a point. Maybe I'll call in a favour from Mareike, a friend of Stella's who visited us in the (first) hospital a couple of days ago and said if we needed help around the house, to call her.

I told Stella yesterday I would consider calling her tonight, but she said that might not be such a good idea because she works full-time and would probably like to have some time to herself as well. But over the weekend, or if the hospital stay extends into next well, I'll re-think things.

Again, thanks for reminding me of what should have been fairly obvious.
