A 'period' is the little dot at the end of a sentence. Many in the UK call it a 'full stop'.

I found a link to this entry in two journals so far, and found it an amusing read. But then, I'm a guy who isn't generally put off by TMI about That Time of the Month. The entry is essentially a rant about feminine hygiene products.
