I was amused to see that an email I received recently through a mailing list hosted by SourceForge and whose headers I happened to glance at was marked as possibly spam (1.9 points) and that part of this was 0.7 point for including the phrase "for FREE"—which came from the promotional footer that SourceForge itself had added to the message! (In this case, a vendor advertising that you should "download [the product] now for FREE".)

The newsletters that were sent out from the company I used to work for had a habit of sending spamassasin over the edge. They would all contain info about various competitions we were running that week, so it'd pick up on "FREE", "WIN", "PRIZE(S)", etc. Much fun trying to explain to people why they weren't getting their mail. Not signing up from a company email address might help;)
