Date: Sunday, 6 February 2005 05:30 (UTC)I'm not sure what "resistance" would have been spelled like since I'm not sure whether it would have been analysed as "re-sis-tance" or "re-si-stance" (or "res-i-stance"? German syllabification, at least for purposes of hyphenation, is fairly etymological sometimes, which is not intuitive; I certainly wouldn't think to syllabify Linoleum as Lin-ole-um since I pronounce it Li-no-le-um).
