A very interesting read about how to behave in pubs: useful for visitors from outside the UK, but may also be interesting to those who live there to see the unwritten rules they may not be aware of following.

I love that text!
It's true what it says, but it still made me giggle.

Very interesting read - particularly the section on buying rounds. In Australia, there is a type of person who is often called "David Copperfield", because he somehow mysteriously vanishes when it's his turn to buy a round. :)

We have similar ... the person who manages to arrange it so that they buy the last round (or the least number) where not many poeple still want drinks! OR order expensive drnks when it's not their round!

That's rather sweet, it's a nice combination of humourous and informative. I like the bit about the gender differences in pub behaviour. Makes sense, though I'm the sort of weirdo who usually goes to the pub in mixed gender groups. Which is a subculture thing; I go to the pub with geek groups (roleplayers, dedicated quizzers), or with a crowd of Jewish friends on Purim, or with goths. So there's an alternative source of bonding which isn't based on gender.

haha they referred to brits as "natives"...it just evitably sounds like we're total foreign monsters who're savage and all.
