ProgressQuest
Sunday, 15 May 2005 21:11Brought to my attention by
chiisaihito, ProgressQuest is a delightfully simple computer role-playing game.
It features such standard fare as killing monsters, acquiring loot and experience, and going on quests, but without the mindless tedium and micromanagement of some other games! Everything is fully automatic! Just start it and watch the progress bar go up, and up, and up...
I think it's pretty funny. (Stella says she can't understand what I see in it. I maintain it has a kind of minimalistic humour.)
If you're interested, check out the standing of my first on-line character (complete with randomly-generated name, whee!). And my second one, conveniently named 'pne'.
Also, if you're interested, come join the "LiveJournal" guild. (Press Ctrl+G while the program is running.)

Though the "online" bit only means that it sends a bit of data to the server each time you start or quit the game or (I believe) when you level up, so that your character will be in the highscore list. That's it.
There's no playable component on the website; it's all through the downloadable Windows binary.
