Reading [livejournal.com profile] livejournal was interesting.

Bunch of people, mostly looking for support, who aren't likely to receive any since comments appear to be disabled globally.

And one guy that keeps on and on with his posting. Surely he'd have guessed after the first time that it didn't work?

I'm not sure quite what's going on, but if you look at the month views (for example, May 2005 (http://www.livejournal.com/community/livejournal/2005/05/), it appears that comments exist but aren't viewable to the average reader.

Interesting point.

My guess would be that comments were, at one point, enabled, and then later globally disabled, and that the month view reflects how many comments there are even though they are not accessible until comments are re-enabled for that community.

In that case, the comments must have been disabled quite recently, since the June view shows comments on the second-most-recent post, from June 21.
