The funny thing is, when you study psychology you learn a bunch of things that everybody knows that are wrong, so they get to the point where they want to study everything that seems obvious, and well, lots of stuff that seems obviously true is true and kind of obvious.

Yes. Or to expand even more "Who would have thunk it?".

Sometimes also spelled "Who'd'a thunk it" or "Who'd 'a thunk it", or similar forms. I prefer the one-word form.

The meaning, of course, being "Wer hätte das gedacht". The past tense "thunk" of "think", rather than "thought", is (I presume) supposed to evoke a hillbilly or hick image: an "uncultured" person.
