This morning, I saw Amy standing up by herself!

Up to now, if she was on the ground, I'd only seen her crawl (or walk on her knees) to something she could pull herself up by, but this time, I saw her get up on her feet, bend her knees, and "walk" her hands backwards until she could take them off the ground—without holding onto anything!

I'm pretty chuffed.

And such a cute new icon! Congratulations!

Frederick is walking a lot now, but he of course still needs to pull himself up somewhere.

I had just posted the comment when Emily came into the room, saw Amy's picture , and immediately identified her correctly as "Cousin Amy". I was so impressed that it totally distracted me from other things: Emily then told me she needed a fresh nappy, and I started changing Frederick...

Oh, she's been walking for a bit now. It's just the "standing up on your own, without holding onto anything to pull yourself up by" bit that had eluded her so far.

But yes, putting things up is very much a good thing, as Amy's sense of order is rather different from ours. ("The freshly-ironed clothing belongs on the floor! And Mummy's purse belongs in my doll pram.")

Awww! She's growing up so fast, it seems like she was born just yesterday. (Wow, do I sound like a parent or what?)
