Judging by the format of the phone number, the chicken is presumably French Canadian rather than from France. Though her French cousin might have the number 44.44.47.19.

You have to know French.

Basically, the telephone number, when you read it in French, sounds like the French for "cluck-cluck-cluck, it's an egg!".
