When I was in America for a family reunion many years ago with my sister, one of my 1c1r had cornrows on her head (the first time I had seen that hairstyle, I think).

The next day, she had sunburn in lines down her scalp, in between the cornrows. It looked rather amusing to me, though it probably wasn't as much fun for her!
