Whenever I run a bath for myself, I adjust the setting on the tap until the water coming out feels "right".

It turns out that whenever I use a bath thermometer to take the temperature of the water, it's invariably 37 °C, or close to it. I find it a bit amusing that my favourite temperature is exactly what is traditionally considered the "average" body temperature for a human.

I doubt that it´s a coincidence. I recently was at a really hot whirlpool and my dad guessed that it would be about 37 degrees and there was a thermometer and it turned out he was right. He said he though temparatures above 37 degrees of water would probably feel too hot. I have no idea where he got that from but I think there may be something about it.

My wife usually takes a bath with 40° water, which she likes but I find too hot (as you said).

Still, our bath thermometer is marked "Baby" at 37 °C and "warm" at 32 °C, so I wonder why my favourite temperature is not, say, 32° or 35° but instead 37°.
