Isle of View

I snickered at the pun :).

Date: Friday, 15 February 2008 07:57 (UTC)TBH, for me right now, most weeks I just log in once a week to collect my L$50 stipend.
I think that for some people, it's a place to meet friends - there are some people who have, I believe, formed quite close relationships. Others go to party, or look at things, or practice building. Some might even earn some money.
I imagine the social aspects are probably the biggest, though.
(I joined because someone on the Lojban mailing list suggested it as a place to meet virtually and to speak Lojban together. I never did end up seeing him in-world, though time zones almost certainly have something to do with that.)
Back when I went into SL more often, I met some really nice people around where I lived, and had some good times, but that does require some investment of time which I don't have right now.

Building and scripting can be rather addictive as well.
