Money != Time

I just freaked out when I looked at my NearlyFreeSpeech.Net account balance—$11.59? Over a dollar less than when I last looked? I'm sure I had more than just a few cents more than a round dollar amount on my account...

Checked the recent activity: just the usual couple of cents a day, with a couple more cents for bandwidth.

...after a bit of thinking, I realised that $11.59 was *not* "just under $12", it was "just under $11.60" and the last time I had looked it was $11.63 or something, so everything was fine.

I guess I just saw the .59 at the end and thought it had gone under a round dollar amount; no, Philip, that's with hours and seconds, not with dollars and cents.

Go and open an account anyway! Create a little test site or something; it's often useful to have more than one.

And if you just stick a couple of HTML and CSS pages in there for testing, a couple of cents will last a long time. Especially if you don't need a domain name and are fine with using sitename.nfshost.com.
