Young child speaking Esperanto

I thought it was cute! And kind of interesting that he's reacting to Esperanto at that age, even though I'd already heard of denaskuloj.
Seeing a child speaking (or even understanding) Klingon or Lojban would be interesting.

Date: Friday, 4 April 2008 19:56 (UTC)This RealAudio link (http://higbee.cots.net/Holtej//klingon/alec1.ra) is his "son singing the first line of HoD Qanqor's taHjaj wo', the "Klingon Imperial Anthem", in Klingon. He was 2 and a half when this recording was made." (From this page (http://higbee.cots.net/Holtej//klingon/resources.htm).)
Me, I'd rather learn how to sing O Canada in Inuktitut (http://wikisource.org/wiki/O_Canada).... (And yes, I can sing it in English and French....)

I'd also read about the hard time he had; known Klingon vocabulary is sparse enough as it is, but back then, it was even smaller (even the word for "table", for example, post-dates the time he spoke English to his son, I seem to recall reading).
From what I hear, his son refused to speak Klingon (or: preferred not to?) at some point and so that was the end of that. I've never heard of anyone since speak Klingon regularly to their child. (On the other hand, there seem to be very few fluent speakers of Klingon -- my impression is not more than a dozen, maybe two. And trying that sort of thing while not being a fluent speaker will make things hard for both parties.)
I'd like to listen to the clip but I don't seem to have anything that'll play RealAudio. (Including the RealPlayer that came preinstalled on my machine; it just keeps giving me error message whenever I try to play anything with it.)

Real Player is Evil with a capital E.
