I just saw a journal entry which used the phrase “ridiculous o’clock”.

Amusing and evocative! And googling for it, it's fairly popular (often with “in the morning” added, and often—unsurprisingly—in the context of waking up, though sometimes in the context of “staying up until”.)

Stupid o'clock is common in our house, as is stupid hours and sparrow's fart...

I've also seen at the ass-crack of dawn and oh-god-thirty in the morning

Or the classic from Robin Williams in Good Morning, Vietnam, from the beginning of his first DJ shift in Saigon:
GOOD MORNING, VIETNAM!
. . .
It's oh-six-hundred! What's the "oh" stand for? "Oh my God, it's early!"
Check it out here (http://youtube.com/watch?v=2GMUYy3wmIA) at about 2:22.

Sometimes that's the best way to describe it =P I like the 'stupid o'clock' the above commenter said, though xD

As others have hinted at, you can substitute "ridiculous" for any adjective, really. Some work better than others, but they almost all work :D

I generally refer to my wake-up time (3:45 a.m.) as either "ass o'clock" or "the hemorrhoids of dawn." It's relatively common to refer to getting up early as getting up at "the ass-crack of dawn" but since at my latitude it's *never* going to be anywhere near sunrise at 3:35, I've decided upon the visceral image of "hemorrhoids."
