(I find it ick, but then I tend to dislike change. I did get used to Xcolibur and then to Horizon, though, so perhaps I'll get used to the redesigned profile page eventually, too.)

heh, I still use the incredibly outdated purple/orange Livejournal layout from years ago. I refuse to change it, and, so far, they've let me keep it.

New profile layout is icky, but I'm sure I'll get over it.

How much notice would you have liked? I thought they were very early in announcing it this time, talking about it at least as far back as the end of September (http://news.livejournal.com/110103.html) (which said "remind" though it was the first time I had heard about it) and mentioning it again a month later (http://news.livejournal.com/110593.html).

It's less ick than I was remembering, but there are some definitely icky aspects. The biggest one for me is that the text is incredibly tiny. I have my zoom level in my browser set higher than most people tend to like, and that page is still ultra-small. When I zoomed it to be big enough, all the other pages had text triple the normal size. Ugh.

Also don't like that the buttons at the top have text next to them. It's cluttered, and there was never anything wrong with having to hover for a tooltip if you couldn't remember what the icons meant. Plus that top box has all the info in a format that's too...conversational? I much prefer things like "Comments Posted: 200" rather than "200 comments posted".

My thought (along the lines of "if it's not broken, don't fix it") was wondering what they thought the specific disadvantages of the old layout were that prompted them to "need" to change it.
