An Anglicism Amy has in her German is her pronunciation of Banane as /bəˈnaːnə/ (/b@'na:n@/), with a reduced vowel in the first syllable like that in English "banana" (which I pronounce /b@'nA:nV/, or thereabouts)—but German doesn't reduce "a" like that, only (I think) "e", so if I had to spell her pronunciation in German, it would have to be "Benane".

arabic speakers often mix up b & p. When I was playing a "name a food for each letter of the alphabet" game with my elementary class a guy from Libya proposed in all seriousness "the panana"
