I wonder when the latest expiration date of a paid account is -- or, in other words, what's the longest length of time that any LiveJournal user has paid for in advance.

I think two years is not uncommon, but what about five? ten? twenty?

(Probably not twenty, since that would make the expiration after the End of Time...)

I remember at one point, one support vol had about 7 years on their account. They always seemed to be the recipient of free time whenever someone else got a perm account.

Granted, this was like 3-4 years ago so they're probably only down to 3-4 years in advance now, but still.

Of course I can't for the life of me remember who that was *g*

There was one user who kept buying more paid time to get more Loyalty Userpics, but I don't remember how far in advance she ended up paid until...

I wonder what she'll do when she hits the limit of time you can pay until...

(I can imagine one exists in 2038, though I could be wrong.)

I don't think it was quite that far in advance (and I have no idea if such a limit exists!), but it was probably at least 5 years easily.

Of course, I think I got [livejournal.com profile] mayerman's account to about 3 years in advance just by vgifting him ponies before he got his permanent account.

How do ponies influence paid time?

If you get 10 vgifts within a 2 week time frame (I believe the Support-specific vgifts don't count for this, but the purple Blinkie is available to the public as well), it adds 2 months of paid time to your account. (I might be off on the numbers a little, because I'm too lazy to look in the FAQ to confirm.)

Oh! I didn't know that. Interesting.

I can't remember who but a user said in their support request that they had bought a ton of paid time just to get loyalty userpics.
